Some Books In My Bookshelf

Was just looking into my bookshelf and thought that I might share some books I've owned so far. I'm not doing this to show off, seriously. I was hoping if some of my books can even help others. I bought them (Some of them were bought by my parents, mostly my dad) because I like them, or just find that book interesting. It's a good thing that most of them can help in my assignments as they serve as references.

Anyway here's my bookshelf, layer by layer:

Top layer: Dictionaries, novels and picture storybooks.

Second layer: Empty folders, envelopes, reference books, artbooks and school magazines.

So the third, forth and fifth layers are not shown because I don't think their important. I can tell you by words here. Third and forth layers are my comic books (Chinese ones) and the fifth layer are my anime/game CD collection. Yup the whole row.

I actually enjoy reading. Not just comic books but also picture storybooks, literatures and novels. Sometimes I read books that I think is weird but I pretty much like them. Currently starting to read this book I just bought some time ago:

Beyond Words, by John Humphrys.

I can read just almost any books given to me. (Other than Science or Maths, unless they're to be read for fun) I like reading books like the one just mentioned - Beyond Words. I like to know what others think and what they would like to share. This is the reason why people publish books right? Because they have something to share and say to us. Deliver messages that we sometimes can't think of and it's unpredictable about what they're going to say.

I think I inherit the genes of my dad who also keeps lots of books. But the books he keeps are more on musics, literatures and some very uncommon books that teenagers can't understand. Books about work, life, facts and stuffs... Well, I was forced to read a literature book almost as thick as dictionary by dad. At first I didn't enjoy it because I thought it was boring, but I later finished the whole book (But skipping a few which I think is really very boring) and find interesting stories.

Well, I think I crapped too much now. Will stop my crapping here. I need to do some Typography work now. Have a nice day ahead people~ Will update my blog again sometimes in the future. =P

My Niece

Here she was today! She's singaporean, and is only few months old. =) My cousin sister came back from Singapore to celebrate my grandma's brithday today, so she brought the baby along. My cousin is local, but married to a Singaporean. Anyway let's take a look at my niece!

My niece! Ain't she cute?

Her name, if I'm not mistaken, is spelled as En She. (Pronounced as End-Shee, I think) I hardly see her because she only comes back here once every few months. T_T Today is the day where I really got to look at her closely because I wasn't really around the previous times when she came. Even if she did, it was hard for me to take a picture of her because she was too fragile and tiny. Not to mention she cries very often. Therefore I did not want to get close to her as I'm afraid I would scare her. (Not that I'm scary ok!)

I had a haircut yesterday. From long hair to a short one. Well, it wasn't really that short. I dunno... The younger sister of one of my friend, who is also my neighbour, is currently learning hair styling. I thought I would give it a try and she how she could cut it for me. I wanted medium length, but guess she cut a little too much. That's ok because I thought it wasn't half bad.

Well, here's the new me:

Me in short hair.

Ok I know there might be some bad comments on how ugly it is. Doesn't matter... Don't really care about whether it's ugly or nice. I just wanted to try a new hairstyle. Anyway gotta go now. Assignments are calling me. Have a nice day ahead people~

Blue Baby Fox

Done by me. I was bored the other day, which I had forgotten when it was but I just knew that I was damn bored. Did this piece of doodle in Li Lian's house while the others were doing their assignments. I had no inspiration. No point continuing work right?

Had a presentation today and the lecturer told most of us to redo out work and submit it the following week. Shit. It's not easy to draw androids and their environments you know. Now that we have to redo the whole thing, it's like... I don't know what to say. I'm speechless. I salute my lecturer for the torture.

Anyway here's my little foxy. It's not something nice, as usual, but I just like it.

Little blue foxy.

The composition of her position seemed a little weird. So does her oversized head, which I've realised after completing her. Oh well... Like the proportions and such. I think I've improved a little in drawing body proportions. I'm glad. The ears seemed weird too. Well, it's just a doodle. Don't expect much from me. =) Self critique by the way. XD It's even practiced in college.

Am going to resume work. It's been days that I've had a good night sleep. For almost a week I've only slept less than four hours in a day. So I'm hoping that I can have a good night's rest at least for today. But I think chances are slim. I'll try to finish up my work fast and go to bed anyway. Have a good day ahead people~

New Artbook Collection

I managed to save up some emergency cash to buy some books I found in Kinokuniya today. We went for a class field trip but after we're done we can go anywhere we like. So a bunch of us went to Kinokuniya to see if we can grab some books.

I was lucky enough to find some books that I think is useful for referencing and art styles. It's pretty good just that I think it's slightly too costly. But it's worth it if I put it to good use. ^^ I'll show you the images of the two books I bought today.

Wanna see it? =P

Ok here goes!

MangaMatrix.

Gothic Lolita Punk ricorico.

I personally love gothic lolita fashions and different types of manga characters. The first book, Mangamatrix is useful for one of my current project, which is to draw mecha and robots. The environments and colour scheme is just like what I wanted it to be in my robot illustration. XD I might want to add in some gothic lolita fashion into my robot as well. Maybe... Just a thought.

Found lots of font and typography books but they are too expensive and I don't think it's worth it. Yeah it's useful as we're having a typography class, but it's just too expensive and unaffordable. I could have bought it if I have the money to, or if it was less pricey. T_T Would try to save up more money for future useful reference books though. I love collecting art and illustration books. Seriously.

Am still kind of rushing for my assignments. So I'll stop here and go do some work. Have a great day ahead people~

Student Short Film Making - S.W.A.Y Production

It is tiring but fun. I'll get some pictures and tell you guys about the process of out film making. Anyway Why the name S.W.A.Y? It's actually an existing word but we used it as our production group's name but coincidence. It was formed by the initials of our group members: S - Stezon, W - William, A - arashi, Y - Yuki (me). Click here to find out the definition of the word.

Ok I know you guys are excited to see the pictures. But here's a short summary about what our story is about. Let's begin! It starts when Dammit (Stezon), his girlfriend Stacy (Joo Yee) and his friend (JC) were playing snooker. Dammit and JC made a bet, or rather a gamble that the loser shall pay for the snooker game. Dammit keeps missing the shot while JC kept scoring. Dammit then accused JC for cheating and they went into a fight. JC fell and was helped by Stacy. They then went off, ignoring Dammit. Dammit was furious and cursed them. He later drank alchohol till he went into a drunken condition. He met a drunken beggar (arashi) who was singing beside a dark back lane. The beggar asked for some beer from Dammit but Dammit violently kicks and steps on the beggar. He then pours the beer onto the beggar and went off. He continued walking till JC, who was stalking him, went over Dammit and kicked him. Jc then robbed Dammit and left him lying on the spot. After a while, Dammit woke up and kept walking, still weak and slightly drunken. He was then hit by a car while crossing a road and fainted. The car sped off without helping him. Dammit woke up at the side of the street and it was raining. He went to seek shelter at the shoplots. When he settled down and sat at the corner of the shop, the beggar then came. Their eyes met. The end.

What the ending actually meant was that Dammit stumbled upon the beggar's territory without realising it. But it's up to the audience how they want to imagine the ending to be. It's a story without any meaning or usual storyline where the good people wins and bad people loses. Heck it's fun although it doesn't mean anything. ^^ And now for the pictures... Sorry for the long wait.

I present you... S.W.A.Y Production's film making in process!

The location - The back lane of the shoplots behind The One Academy.

It's actually quite dirty, has rats and cockroaches.

Fion's car. We borrowed it.

The lighting setups.

Brigtened up.

Stezon. Our lovely director viewing and adjusting the video camera.

Lights. And that person behind the light bouncer is me. See even a screen like that can cover me up!

S.W.A.Y Production group members.

Lots of things happened during this nine hours. Yes I mean NINE hours none stop filming and set ups. From 11 p.m. till 7 a.m. in te morning. Funny thing is, during this nine hours, we only managed to capture less than 20 minutes of movie shots. Cool right? Now you know what it's like to produce a film? So don't buy pirated DVDs and stuff ok? Anyway due to few interesting angle shots, such as high angle and bird's eye view, some of us had to sacrifice ourselves to climb up the second floor. It was pretty dangerous though. Kids, please don't do this... I won't post it up here because I don't want you guys to see the danger of it and going "OMG what the hell are you doing!?" or "How did you guys managed to climb up there?!" and things like that.

The Sunway securities even came with their motorbikes to question us. I think someone reported that we might be stealing things because we were still up at 3 a.m. and looking suspicious. But come on... No thieves would carry lightings and audio equipments with them right? =_= No big deal. Worst thing is we felt that we might be robbed anytime. There were crazy people coming to that spot from time to time. Some tried to talk to us and some standing to see what we were doing. It's scary.

Anyway I am happy that I'm of help. I wished to help out more but I'm not very good at filming and things. Although I was in charge of the audio. ^^ It was fun as we get to have dinner together as well. Love you guys~ Pictures are credited to arashi. =) So that's the end of today's post. It's a pretty long one. So, enjoy reading and have a nice day ahead~

Watched Ice Age 3 With Friends

Yeah I watched Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs with college mates after class this evening. I didn't watched the previous two episodes so I can't compare with one is the best. But this wasn't a really bad one. It kept us laughing throughout the whole movie and the storyline seem pretty much ok to me.

Ice Age 3.

I would recommend you guys to watch. It's worth it and isn't really as boring. That's all for now. Have a nice day ahead people~
