Happy Chinese New Year to everyone~ Sorry for being a little late. I think this would be my shortest post... I've nothing much to write. So, let's end it here. Good day people. ^^

Bleeding Smile

This is the name of the art I drew not long ago for my History of Art report. We're required to draw a picture based on an art movement we like. So I drew something that is of Symbolism art movement.

Here's the piece of art. Although I don't find it nice...

Bleeding Smile.

Here's what I wrote for the report:

"This is a drawing I made using Symbolism art movement and colourpencil, which is a form of dry media. The drawing is of a girl with bleeding black wings smiling towards to viewer. The title of this drawing is “Bleeding Smile”.

When you see a child, the first thing you’ll think of a child is being innocent. At this young age, they don’t know much about the world and they don’t know how to protect themselves. They always stay happy even when something bad is going on. Even when a child was beaten by the parents for misbehaving, he or she will continue being happy after some time as they won’t think about their mistake or the reason he or she was beaten by the parents.

To add on the innocence of a child, I have added a smile to the girl on the drawing. No one will ever suspect a child for being upset or up to something bad when they are smiling. When a girl smiles, it shows how sweet she can be and being cheerful all the time. Thus, nobody will question a child if he or she has any problems.

White wings on a human body remind us of angels. Angels are symbolized as good, pure and innocent. But in my drawing I’ve coloured it black. Black colour is normally related to evil, darkness or something negative. Furthermore, I’ve added dripping blood on the wings of the girl. This obviously shows that the girl is hurt, either physically or mentally. The black wings are to show that the girl is not pure anymore. She might have been ‘polluted’ or have been in time where she suffered an attack or been in a terrible situation before.

I purposely dressed the girl up in black to show that we should not judge a book by its cover. As explained earlier, a child, when smiling shows that he or she is happy and innocent. Even with black clothing, doesn’t mean a child is seen as a negative thing or having problems. It can simply mean the style of the child’s fashion.

Overall, the drawing is about a girl being abused but acted happy so that nobody would know about her sufferings and sadness. No one would suspect that she was hurt before and would not know what situation she had undergone. She just keeps everything to herself, not wanting anyone to worry about her. This shows that a girl can be tough and strong at times although she’s feeling hurt.

The message I wanted to convey in this drawing is to stop child abuse, whether it’s mentally or physically. Always concern and ask about a child if he or she is feeling alright or having problems although they might be smiling or being happy at that time. Children are fragile if compared to an adult. This is why we must protect them from being harmed otherwise their future will be ruined. "

It's just what I thought of at the moment while drawing this art. You guys can disagree with what I said in my report. And I was feeling a little sad at that time so it's what I could think of... Something sad and depressing.

Dessert's Bar

Went to Dessert's Bar yesterday. Went two days in a row because of the promotion which ends today. =P 50% off all items. It's really cheap. I'll let the pictures do the talking now.

Sick Season

Yup that's right. Lots of people are getting sick just before Chinese New Year. I wonder why is this so strange. Lots of my classmates are sick too. Some of them recovered, some still sick. As for me, it was just the begining.

Had sore throat two days ago, slight fever and flu this morning. Wasn't able to concentrate much in class. Fortunately, there wasn't any home assignments or I can die instantly. All we did was class exercises, which I'm grateful that it wasn't a tough one either. =P Wasn't in the mood to do any assignments as I'm already half dead.
Went home and took a nap straight away. Was too tired to even do anything else. I wished I was better... I don't wanna do some freaking last minute work, although I survived that for the past years so far. ^^

Already One Week

Time passes by really quicky. It has been already a week of the third semester. I'm still alive! =D I should be anyway. =_= Felt that the workload really did increase and same goes to the difficulty level of our assigments and projects.

Had rather interesting classes, but doesn't really involve a lot of drawing. As in, not drawing any objects and not so colourful anymore. It's more to designing things and role playing kindda stuffs. I HATE ROLE PLAYING! T_T Lots of individual work as well as group or team work. ^^ More of doing researching as well. Damn...

Also, I needed to get some digital tools such as a laptop or digital camera. Laptop is needed for sure but I'm not sure when I'd wanna buy it. Maybe after I get my ang paos... =P Or look for a kind sponsor~ XD Lots of other stuffs yet to be bought. I hope I don't have to spend as much of drawing tools as compared to the previous two semesters.

More of going outdoors now! O_o Although I don't really like being outside... But if group work is involved then I've no choice. (Like I have any in the first place!) Need to stay back more often for discussions, and birthday celebrations or special occasions~ ^^ I also hope that I can finish my assignments in time. I'm one of those last-minute-work person.

Ok I think this post is actually long and boring enough for you guys, and even myself. =.= I'll post something more interesting later on. Have a good day people~

First Day of Third Semester

Finally class starts once again. It doesn't feel like three weeks of holidays though. T_T I've not enough of it. =P Anyway, today wasn't really an excited day but not a bad one either.

First class... And we already have History of Arts subject. =_= Didn't really like anything related to history no matter if it has to do with arts. First class... And we've already briefing for our essay! O_o I'm so gonna die... But luckily it's either an individual work or pairings of two. XD Lucky the lecturer said it's withen 15 to 20 pages. No more, no less. This really made me relieved as the last term he said it was AT LEAST 30 pages. Gosh... But I think 30 pages is not a big fuss actually. There are plenty more people who did more than this amount anyway.

Had two hours of lunch break. Second subject for today is Perspective Studies. CK was our lecturer again! =D Kindda missed him. Sadly there's no more Zhuo Yong. ='( He's a good guy. Haha... New tutor's name is Lee Theng. (Or was it Lee Thing... =_=) She's not a bad person either. (At least she looks so. =P)


End of today. Was pretty tired but wasn't able to sleep or at least get a rest. Maybe I'll sleep early. ^_^ Hopefully tomorrow's not as bad as today. Have a nice day people~
